Thank you Savvy Pet Spa for giving us a guest spot on your blog!

WE are proud to be The British Isles Grooming Association. It’s our hope that many groomers and grooming professionals will become well acquainted with us in the coming months. Our aim is simple and clear: to create not only a supportive community and network in the grooming industry but also be a loud and visible platform that groomers can use as their voice. Our latest correspondence on potential regulation of the grooming industry can be found in the members area at http://www.mybiga.org/ We are presently asking our members for input and views which will have a direct impact on future discussions as part of the Canine and Feline Sector Group (CFSG). The CFSG advises the Government on matters relating to pet welfare. This is why your opinion matters! And we would love to hear it! Please join us, get involved and have a say…

So what’s in the show?

Our marvellous directors and volunteers and have been working hard to pull together a fantastic show. There’s still time to enter the competitions so if you fancy it – give it a go! Our Snowflake class is perfect for those groomers testing out a trim or looking for no stress feedback as you bring your dog already trimmed. We also crown our BIGA Stylist of the Year from the Purebreed and Workshop classes, picked by our judges Louisa Tandy, Denise Westbrook and Christine Anderton.

Fun and easy competitions will run through the day with the chance to win fab prizes including two 32G iPads and a Cleany Teeth starter pack.

The seminar and demo rooms will be fully loaded with names such as Amy Manser, Jitka Krizova, Lakhi Tindal, Georgia Ashton Fuller, Kirsty Young and Lisa Hart to name but a few. Watch these stars of the grooming industry do what they do best and learn how they do it!

Our knowledgable speakers include Julie Harris, veterinarian Sophie Bell, Rob Fellows with Reiki, Katie Rourke Dowding with insurance HIA and Heidi Anderton who will tells us how to work smarter not harder. Qualification information and advice is readily available with ICMG, City and Guilds and OCN training representatives. There will be an answer for EVERY question you may have so please come ready to listen, learn and discover the next stage in your career.

You’ll need your big bags and trolleys as we have a superb line up of trade stands. Don’t forget your sharpening!

FOR GROOMERS, BY GROOMERS

At the end of the day we will host The BIGA Debate. Here you will find an open discussion on matters close to our grooming hearts. As working groomers and business persons ourselves, we understand the trials and tribulations that arise in the industry, as well as the triumphs of course! At BIGA we really are trying to make it all about YOU and we invite you to join us in our journey to help keep the industry we love so much healthy and thriving.

As you would expect from a nonprofit organisation we are run entirely by volunteers who share our passion for grooming. So if anyone out there would like to help us forge forwards please do get in touch. We hope to see you at the show!
